Landscapes Lived and Imagined is an exhibition bringing together works from different collections by Carmen Montero around a single thread: landscape as refuge.

Nature lies at the heart of every piece —dense vegetation, open horizons, still waters, ice— yet it is rarely alone. Human figures find their place in cabins among trees, in greenhouses of diffused light, in everyday scenes wrapped by their surroundings. The presence of the vegetal world acts as a background score, setting the emotional rhythm of each work.

The exhibition traces a journey between what is remembered and what is invented, between the direct experience of landscape and its pictorial reinvention. An invitation to inhabit, if only briefly, those places that exist somewhere between the world and the imagination.
